We hate to call it a typical IVF journey. The entire process is anything but typical. It’s a journey
of love, hope, vulnerability, and (we hope) joy.
There comes a time in everyone’s life where they consider having children.
Some go for it and others don’t. Usually, all it takes is a few encounters with your partner, proper
pregnancy care, and in nine months you have a beautiful child.
Not all of us have it so easy. For those who’ve tried and have been unable
to get pregnant on their own there are many options.
We’re going to look at the typical journey of someone who’s
chosen the most effective fertility technique available today.
There are many types of procedures that would technically
count as IVF. That’s because the IV in IVF can mean:
If it’s confusing don’t blame us. Blame the people who spoke Latin 2,000 years ago.
When you, the news, and the rest of the world says IVF, they mean in the glass.
We’ll explain that process shortly.
Before we do that, we just want to touch on the different fertilization techniques.
We’ll be quick.
That was just a rough overview of the three most popular IVF techniques.
Let’s look at the entire process for number three – the one you came here for.
Starting treatment
Day one of your treatment coincides with the first day of your period.
Call your clinic to confirm the next steps.
They’ll have given you an outline of the treatment you’ll be taking.
Generally, the medicine will regulate your cycle and prepare your body for the changes about to occur.
Ovarian Stimulation
The first stage of the cycle is ovarian stimulation.
Women usually release one egg during each cycle.
The injections – which are administered at home – allow the woman to
ovulate and release multiple eggs which are then collected for insemination.
